Below are some training opportunities for ESOL teachers on a local (within the Washington metro area), regional, and national or international level.

Local Ongoing Training

The Fairfax County Public Schools Adult ESOL program offers excellent, free training on Saturday mornings for volunteer ESOL teachers.

NorthStar Church Network offers excellent comprehensive training at local churches in our area. There are usually at least four training sessions a year that cover both ESL teaching techniques, ministry tools, and program organization. This training is a MUST for all new teachers and program directors. The workshop schedule can vary in length to meet your needs, includes an excellent resource book and is low cost. Workshop content includes
